The captivating detail of films by iconic Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli will make you feel nostalgic and full of wonder about the world this summer.
The Art Gallery of New South Wales will be hosting weekly screenings every Saturday at 2 pm between the 11th of January to the 8th of February at its Domain Theatre.
Films in the program line-up include animation legend Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke. Pom Poko directed by Isao Takahata also makes an appearance.
Studio Ghibli has created renowned works inspired by the traditions of folklore and fantasy in Japanese art. This event is in association with the Japan Supernatural exhibition.
Whether you are new to their works, would like to catch up with screenings that you’ve missed out on or want to revisit the much-loved films – this is an event for you!
