How do you write from your body? How would you write from within another body - a loved one, family member, figure of history or cultural icon? Purely through research? Imagination? Empathy?
This online workshop will help you transform the raw material of your own memories and experience into writing that is accessible, adventurous and powerful. Andy Jackson, an experienced and supportive workshop facilitator and a widely published poet, will lead you through exercises to put more body into your writing.
Andy Jackson has featured at literary events and arts festivals in Ireland, India, the USA and Australia, and co-edited disability-themed issues of the literary journals Southerly and Australian Poetry Journal. His most recent book, Music Our Bodies Can't Hold, was shortlisted for the John Bray Poetry Award.
