Secrets will be revealed and mysteries solved when Jo Henwood joins SMSA to explore the history of the mystery literary genre.

Everyone knows the first mystery story was Edgar Allan Poe's 'Murders in the Rue Morgue', that women began writing mysteries in Britain in the 20s and 30s, that the longest mystery series was by Georges Simenon, and that the first Australian mystery was Fergus Hume's 'Mystery of the Hansom Cab' - but none of this is true.

Join us as we search for clues, undeterred by red herrings, led by sleuths from the pens of Christie, Doyle, Chandler, and many more, as we uncover the history of the mystery literary genre!

Free online event - everyone welcome!

Registration essential to receive Zoom link.
