The Treasures Gallery highlights the extraordinary holdings of the National Library of Australia. From maps and rare books to manuscripts, photographs, oil paintings and watercolours, this is where you will find many of the Library’s most unexpected and unique items. Be intrigued, surprised, challenged and amazed by the stories their treasures tell.
Their displays change regularly, so The Treasures Gallery has exciting new stories to share. They include exquisite eighteenth-century watercolours of Australian plants by Ellis Rowan, a 'Wanted' poster and revolver associated with bushranger Ben Hall, and displays about the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games and the Spanish flu pandemic of the early twentieth century. Read more about our Treasure Gallery highlights.
The Treasures Gallery is free and opens every day, except on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
The Library warmly thanks our Treasures Gallery supporters. Their generosity has made it possible to bring these treasures to life for the whole community.
