The Australian Federal Police Museum’s Threads of Policing exhibition is opening at the Canberra Museum and Gallery on Saturday 6 November 2021, and on display until Saturday 5 March 2022.
Inspired by the AFP’s 40th Anniversary quilts, the exhibition showcases the AFP and celebrates its achievements, while honouring the dedication and commitment of its members. The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to explore the varied work of the AFP as reflected by the stories of its members.
This exhibition presents four beautifully made quilts as well as objects from the AFP Museum’s fascinating collection, which further illustrate the stories behind the quilt blocks.
Some of these objects come from significant operations including the AFP’s assistance with the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 investigation in the Ukraine, peacekeeping operations across the world, items from the Canine and Forensic collections, as well as the diving gear highlighting the extraordinary Thai cave rescue, and much more.
The Canberra Museum and Gallery is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 am-5 pm and is located on the corner of London Circuit and Civic Square, Canberra.
