'The Future of Sydney' is a virtual think tank series that aims to initiate an open discussion on some of the key urban issues facing the livability of Sydney.
The second online session focuses on social and affordable housing. We will have Cathy Callaghan from Shelter NSW and Dr Julie Lawson from RMIT University presenting some of their recent research and advocacy activities on social housing. The event continues with an open discussion on the following broad questions:
What is the current status of social housing in Australian capital cities including Sydney?
What are the gaps and areas for improvement in social housing policy and planning?
Where do we want to be ideally in the next 5-10 years?
'The Future of Sydney' think tank series is organised in collaboration with Yvonne Weldon who is the first Aboriginal-Australian candidate for Lord Mayor of Sydney in the upcoming NSW local government elections in September 2021.
The event is free, open to public and hosted by Dr Meead Saberi from University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney via Zoom. Link to the Zoom meeting will provided once registration is completed on Eventbrite.
