The South Asian Festival returns to Birrarung Marr for the fifth consecutive year, in partnership with the City of Melbourne. This day-long, free event celebrates the New Year of South Asian countries in a colourful display of the region's rich, diverse and festive culture.

The exciting line-up of stage performances will include songs, traditional dance, poetry, bands and the crowd favourite, a DJ. Popular food vans and restaurants, including a pop-up by Sashi Cheliah, winner of Masterchef Australia 2018, will provide an extensive assortment of dishes bursting with South Asian flavours. Feast on your favourites, or try out something new.

Community stalls will showcase boutique clothing, jewelry, handicrafts, toys, books and more. Other activities will include face painting, carnival rides and games for all ages, a ceremonial rally, flying kites and an elaborate fireworks display.

There will be something for everyone to enjoy at this multicultural event, so come along with your family and friends for a memorable experience.
