Join author Rebecca Higgie as she talks about her novel The History of Mischief and offers invaluable writing advice.

Rebecca Higgie's young adult novel The History of Mischief took 12 years to write. After many stops and starts, she developed a writing process that ensured her book was not only finished, but so good that the manuscript won the Fogarty Literary Award.

At this talk, Rebecca will take you through her research process that involved, among other things, hunting out-of-print books, visiting lighthouses and setting books on fire. She'll also give advice on how to tackle a project that keeps stalling. This is a perfect talk for teens and adults who are interested in writing, but need to banish their inner-critic and stay motivated.

All ages are welcome, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
