Learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop to prepare your own artwork or design to create laser cut jewellery.
Led by an experienced facilitator in the Darling Square Library makerspace, this workshop is a great introduction to laser cut jewellery using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator software and laser cutting.
You'll be guided through how to use your existing image or design using Photoshop to make a piece of jewellery. Once you're happy with your final design, we'll laser cut or etch it for you. You'll receive your design during the class and can add the hooks, clasps or cords to make it wearable.
Over the 3 hours, we'll also give you a tour of the makerspace so you can see the laser cutter and 3D printers in action.
What you'll learn:
Basic digital design using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
How to navigate the user interface and import images
Tools including colour manipulation, image correction and filters to prepare your image for laser cutting
Basic laser cutting and jewellery making
What you'll take home:
1 laser cutting of your piece of jewellery in plywood or perspex.
Designs are laser cut up to a maximum size of 10x10cm.
If your design is not ready by the end of the workshop we will mail it to you.
