School holiday theatre workshop | Acting: Building Character 2021

Explore the essential principles of characterisation with actor and comedian Chelsea Zeller.

This digital workshop offers starting points for building a character through practical activities and gives students the chance to engage with professional techniques to explore a performance.

During the workshop students will be introduced to:

• some of the tools available to an actor when starting to explore a character,

• the process of breaking down a script to discover character,

• the elements of building a physical character and

• the role of physicality and internal motivations for characterisation

Wed 7 April: Suitable for students in Years 8, 9, and 10 (ages 12-14)

Wed 14 April: Suitable for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 (ages 15-18).
