The 8th Australian Queer Screen Film Festival returns on the 17th September. The festival is largely online with a handful of cinema screenings. There are a variety of films from across the globe exploring the trials and tribulations of people within the LGBTIQ community.
The line-up of screenings contains a mixed bag of different genres. There are documentaries such as Ahead of the Curve - the story of Franco Stevens, founder of the lesbian magazine Curve, and the self-explanatory titled Steelers: The World's First Gay Rugby Club.
Gossamer Folds is a drama telling the story of what happens when a white heterosexual couple and their 10-year-old son move in next door to a black trans woman, who is played by black trans actress Alexandra Grey.
For those wanting something a little more light-hearted, rom-com Breaking Fast is about a gay Muslim man with an accepting family, who meets someone during the holy month of Ramadan.
A single movie can be viewed for just $12, which you are able to stream at any time from 7pm on 17th September to 11:59pm on 27th September. Alternatively, you can buy packs of 3 and 5 passes which will set you back $33 and $54 respectively. For those having trouble picking pictures, you can watch them all for the bargain price of $99.
There are also a few free screenings of shorts focusing on either gay, lesbian, or trans stories.
