'This new body of work focuses on the landscape at the end of the day; from the pleasant warm haze of late afternoon, through to the mystery of twilight, when trees form silhouettes against an evening sky. It's my favourite time of day to go for a walk. The light has a magical, soft, dream-like quality. It's a time to reflect, and also a time to think of tomorrow.

'It's a challenging yet rewarding subject matter to paint. The light has a diffused, filtered quality. There is a mood, or atmosphere that is distinctive. Warm and cool colours compete.
