Join Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) shortlisted illustrator Mel Pearce as she discusses her first children's book No! Never! Mel will discuss her artistic process and what it was like working on her first published book.

About Mel Pearce
Mel Pearce is an artist and illustrator who likes scribbling in detail. Mel completed an Advanced Diploma in Visual Art and Contemporary Craft at the Central Institute of Technology, and received the Blaxell Award, a prize awarded to promising graduating artists. She then went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration at Curtin University.
Her first published work No! Never! (Hatchette Australia, 2020) written by Libby Hathorn and Lisa Hathorn-Jarman has been shortlisted for the 2021 CBCA Book of the Year: Early Childhood Award and the 2021 CBWA Award for New Illustrators.
