In Mexico, El Día del Amor y la Amistad (The Day of Love and Friendship) is the rather lovely title they give to February 14, a day we know in Australia as Valentine's Day.
We love this term as it's all-encompassing - a day to celebrate everyone whose special to you, whether it be a fantastic friend, a loving partner or maybe even someone important to you in your family.
Double Bay destination for Mexican culinary cuisine and great vibes, Sinaloa (the old Mrs Sippy location) are offering a pretty unbeatable 'Day of Love And Friendship' experience for those interested on Monday, February 14 - book a table for dinner and be serenaded by a personal mariachi player in traditional Mexican style!
For $99 a person, indulge in a sharing style banquet. Kick off in style with oysters and ceviche, followed by guac and corn chips, then get the chance to taste Pibil Pollo, a Yucatan chicken dish marinated in oranges, spices, and banana leaves. A killer side comes by way of Charred corn with pecorino, chipotle mayo, and tajin. Round things off with the sweet dessert: a traditional corn cheesecake adorned with dried rose petals.
A vegetarian option is also available - the ceviche is watermelon ceviche, and the oysters are replaced with burrata, while the chicken is replaced by Grilled eggplant Soft Shell Tortillas with Spice glaze, corn puree, scallions, charred broccolini, toasted sesame, and ricotta.
Each person at your table will get a glass of bubbles on arrival. Throughout the night, choose from fun cocktails such as the 'Sinaloa Kiss' (strawberry margarita) and the on-trend Palmomas.
$99 per person (for sharing style banquet). Two times for booking: 6pm and 8.30pm
