Masking: The Act of artificially 'performing' social behaviour that is deemed to be more 'neurotypical' or hiding behaviour that might be viewed as socially unacceptable . The motivations for masking symptoms of autism include fitting in and increasing connections with others.
Step behind the mask of performance and see the world 'through the spectrum'. After a decade of creating characters on stage and off, Charlie has earned the crown of Chameleon King. A poignant collection of a lifetime's work, this is a theatre show like no other. How are these characters created? What does it look like inside the mind of a Neuro-Diverse entertainer? And most importantly of all, what if processing the world outside of the typical has been the magical ingredient this whole time?
Meet the characters many of you already know and love, (Chapstik, Chaplin, Distracto, Naia _and of course _Daddy Charles), but this time; be introduced through the eyes of the only person never seen on stage before: Charlie themselves.
Stand Up. Burlesque. Comedy. Song. Clowning, Dance. Tragedy. Drag. Boobs. Shakespeare. Silent Movies. Gyrating. Human connection. A different perspective. A Unique immersive theatre experience that seeks to disempower the dark with laughter and light. 8 Characters. One human. Nothing else like it.
