Renowned Sydney CBD Mexican restaurant, tequila and mezcal bar Esteban has launched live Latin music nights at 1 Temperance Lane.
This atmospheric laneway, accessed from George Street, will transform into a slice of urban Latin America every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night over the next 3 months with ESTEBANd, a live music extravaganza.
Featuring Latin-inspired performances, there will be a rolling program of Samba bands, tango artists, Cuban acoustic artists, sultry Salsa solos, a Rumba and Funk trio playing over 20 instruments, and much more.
The initiative is a collaboration with The City of Sydney & NSW Government's Rediscover Sydney campaign, a grant funding program that's breathing life back into the city through live music, performance, and art activations.
In addition to the music program, guests will also enjoy an innovative dining menu showcasing authentic Mexican dishes while seated in the vibrant, alfresco laneway area or across the split-level indoor venue.
The menu designed by Executive Group Chef John Frid, whose culinary career spans 24+ years in the kitchen, showcases regional dishes and traditional Mexican cooking techniques, demonstrating the versatility of Mexican cuisine and its influencers - ranging from Mayan, Aztec, Spanish and Portuguese, to Afro Caribbean. Incorporating Australian native ingredients and locally sourced, sustainable produce, Frid and his team have created a menu of sophisticated dishes which boast many elements made in-house.
With immediate proximity to the Sydney light rail and CBD shopping district, ESTEBANd is the perfect experience for a date-night with a difference, a go-to for post-work dinner, and a must for those special group celebrations. Reflecting the spirit and life of Central America, with a focus on dynamic live music and authentic Mexican cuisine, diners can expect exceptional food with a fun and unexpected twist as they begin an immersive journey through Mexico one tune and dish at a time, without ever leaving Sydney!
