For our final Project of 2021, MAY SPACE Online is proud to present Sydney-based emerging artist Lauren Ami, who brings together a new series of textile works alongside interviews, videos, and thoughts about her process.

Just a Girl with an Ankle Tan explores the intersection between art and entertainment, with Ami being particularly influenced by meme and text culture, and how these impact an audience's digestion of traditional art media and space.

MAY SPACE has a long and successful history of promoting artists and creating meaningful opportunities. PROJECTS, our newest venture, will create a multi-arts space for experimentation and exploration. With a monthly program, PROJECTS's aim is to enliven artists to document and share their creative practices as they present or progress towards a new body of work.
