Join Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) shortlisted author and illustrator Gabriel Evans for a hands-on illustration workshop. Gabriel will show you the techniques he uses to create illustrations for children's picture books. Discover how to design characters and the step-by-step process for creating an illustration.


Suitable for ages 12 and above.

About Gabriel Evans

Gabriel Evans is an Australian author and illustrator. Gabriel writes and illustrates children's stories using a mixture of watercolour, gouache, pencil and ink on paper. His books have been sold internationally and translated into multiple languages. Gabriel's picture book Norton and the Bear (Berbay Books, 2020) has been shortlisted for the 2021 CBCA Picture Book of the Year award. His  latest book, A Human for Kingsley (Hardie Grant Egmont, 2021), follows the journey of a dog trying to find the perfect human to adopt.
