Find out if HomeShare is for you?
The presence of a younger housemate can provide an older person peace of mind, companionship and the ability to live in their own home for longer. For a younger person, this mutually beneficial agreement can enable them to live in a safe, fully furnished home near their work, school or public transport at a fraction of the cost of renting.
In exchange for a room in a comfortable home in Sydney the sharer will provide some companionship, and extra light household help e.g. mowing the lawn, sweeping the leaves, picking up some groceries, unpacking the shopping or cooking some meals for the owner.
The type and level of support differs for each arrangement but is specific to each homeowner's needs, and is spelled out in a legal HomeShare agreement between owner and sharer, that is carefully facilitated by Holdsworth so you know what to expect and are supported by us all the way
We are committed to providing HomeShare in our community.
The Department of Communities and Justice have recently granted us funding to support our HomeShare program. This means people aged 18-24 may be eligible to have their fees waived up until 1 July 2022 in HomeShare. Conditions apply.
HomeShare sharers however, can be any age. We also have some funding available to cover fees for women at risk of homelessness in Eastern Sydney. Conditions Apply* Contact Holdsworth for details.
