For History Week 2021, join GML Heritage as they delve into the underground of cemeteries, social ferment of political movements, lost voices and secret landscapes.

Megan Lawrence will reflect on the life and legacy of the matriarch of NSW's suffrage movement, Louisa Lawson.

Rosalie Mickan's research into cemeteries has writ large how these landscapes are encoded with labour history, community belonging and class hierarchy.

Talei Holm will present on the little known Aboriginal practice of Ring Trees across cultural landscapes of East Coast Australia.

Therese McCarthy has traced the lives of women deserted by husbands and fathers in Colonial South Australia. Their experience drove reform to maintenance and divorce legislation from the ground up.

The webinar will be Chaired by Patrick Atkinson.

This is a free and online event. Registrations are essential.

This event is a part of History Week 2021 #fromthegroundup, organised by the History Council NSW.

Hosted by GML Heritage.
