From Nov 16-20, one film will be published on the dashboard of First Nations Bedtime Stories Challenge website each day by 8am AEST which can be watched at any time from that day onwards. This event is hosted by Common Ground aka Common Ground First Nations Ltd , an Aboriginal-led non-profit that shares First Nations stories, cultures, histories and lived experiences. They believe that knowledge and understanding of different cultures creates respect, acceptance and opportunity. Through events like this, they aim to create a united Australia that celebrates and embraces First Nations people.
It's an event everyone needs to get onboard as few non-Indigenous Australians have the opportunity to hear from First Nations people, and these stories are at risk of being lost. Even though according to the 2018 Reconciliation Barometer Survey, at least 80% of Australians believe it's important to know about the cultures of First Nations people, how many people really know much about these cultures? This is a unique way to learn about the oldest continuous cultures in the world. Join the Challenge to help bridge the knowledge gap and create change y listening, learning, and having conversations with those around you.
