Web talk open to the public with a group viewing at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sydney, 295 Broadway, (cnr Derwent St) Glebe.
Brian Pennix, CSB discusses how our innocence is always intact and can be expressed in daily life because we are the image and likeness of the one all-good and innocent God.
'Through my practice of Christian Science, I've come to see that God is Love itself, loving unconditionally, which empowers each of us with God-derived innocence,' says Mr. Pennix. 'It indicates we can find safety and have an undoubting expectation of good. Our innate innocence means we always deserve to be free from pain, both mental and physical, as I have experienced many times in my life. And we have the ability to bring freedom and goodness to others, even those who would victimise.'
The talk will focus on universal healing precepts found in the Holy Bible, especially in Christ Jesus' life and teachings, and show how they are available for anyone to understand and experience.
Mr. Pennix will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, meaning that anyone can prove its effectiveness for themselves, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy.
The talk is free and open to the community.
Brian Pennix, CSB
The most rewarding aspect of the work as a Christian Science practitioner and teacher is the wonderful feeling of learning more about how God is caring for all of us; getting a deeper awareness of that and seeing it manifested as healing in someone's life who has asked me to pray with them. My great joy is helping others appreciate their closeness with God and their right to health and peace as God's innocent children.
After college I went into US Army Intelligence. Later, I practiced law in California and in Massachusetts, which included two terms as General Counsel for The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston.
I love and enjoy my family, appreciate all music, play the guitar and enjoy a weekly round of golf with good friends.
