Bridgette's exhibition Disco bugs explores the miniature world of insects and spiders.
In this session she will share will us how creates these wonderful vibrant bug portraits and tell us all about her macro photography practice.
Over the past three years, Bridgette Gower has dedicated every spare minute to finding, photographing and identifying some of the world's tiniest creatures. Living near the Cairns Botanic Gardens has enabled her to spend countless hours searching for the many hidden treasures.
At the start of 2020, Bridgette was made redundant from her full-time job, giving her the push she needed to start her own photography-based business.
Bridgette now runs guided nature and photography tours. She takes other photographers and nature enthusiasts to all the 'go-to' places to see beautiful creatures living in the tropical north of Queensland.
