Rocco's focus will be on getting the student to feel as comfortable creating images on digital devices as they are on traditional mediums.
Students will be encouraged to transfer their skills on smartphones and tablets as well as exploring ways of building their confidence up on traditional mediums with colour, form and composition. Allow the smartphone/tablet to be your everyday sketchbook to create preliminary studies and concepts that form the basis of a painting.
Students may bring their digital devices, digital stylus, paper, paints and traditional drawing implements. If their digital device doesn't have a drawing app, they should download the Procreate app which is available on iTunes for $7.99. Drawing apps such as Procreate and ArtRage now allows for the creation of simple animation. A stylus is necessary and they range in price from $5.00 to $120.00 for an Apple pencil, any of which are good enough.
