The Slinky Swing Orchestra is a funky edged, horn heavy, swing orchestra fronted by dynamic and seasoned Sydney vocalist Clive Lochner working with Bell Award winning sax legend and big band conductor James Ryan.
Established in late 2019 by Clive Lochner, the 15 piece Sydney based Slinky Swing Orchestra is currently performing tunes from the repertoire of Frank Sinatra with a sprinkling of songs sung by Billy Holiday, Etta James, Louis Armstrong, Herbie Hancock, Little Willie John & more.
The night starts with an intimate ensemble set, followed by a short break and the horn heavy orchestra live on stage for the second set. This performance will feature up to 10 members of the orchestra on stage at any one time due to current stage capacity restrictions for Civic Underground.
This will be a very special night as the Slinky Swing Orchestra will be heard through the million dollar sound system at Civic Underground. The venue is renowned for its world class natural sound. The sound engineers are the same guys who mix front of house at the main concert hall at Sydney Opera House.
The orchestra, listed below, are a combination of renowned musicians and Sydney Conservatorium of Music graduates and students. The music is electrifying and does justice to the fabulous repertoire they perform.
