Join artist Katy B Plummer for a free City Art walking tour, as she discusses her new interactive fortune-telling artwork, We Are All Astonishingly Wise, along with significant public artworks that speak to the city's past and its potential future, including Tracey Emin's The Distance of Your Heart and Lara Schnitger's Patchwork of Light.

The tour will commence in Macquarie Place Park on Bridge Street, Sydney and trail through the city centre, concluding at Hyde Park Barracks, on the corner of Macquarie Street and Prince Alfred Road.

About Katy B Plummer

Katy B Plummer is a Sydney-based artist whose work encompasses video, performance and installation. She also works with textiles and experiments with theatrical storytelling to address male-centric histories and politics.

'We Are All Astonishingly Wise' is one of four new temporary laneway artworks commissioned by the City of Sydney in 2021. On display in Abercrombie Lane, the artwork's furry pink ghost offers oracle readings from a deck of 48 unique tarot cards.

Access

  • For people who use a wheelchair or a mobility aid, please be advised that this tour will go for approximately 2 hours. Much of this time will be spent walking between artworks in the city centre, which includes moderately steep inclines.

Covid safety

  • Participants will need to check into the tour with a Service NSW QR code provided on the day

  • Participants are required to follow physical distancing guidelines on this tour

  • To ensure safe physical distancing, only those who have booked tickets will be allowed on the tour 

  • If you have booked a ticket and you are unwell on the day of the tour, please do not attend, get tested and isolate, as required

  • Tour guides will carry hand sanitiser with them during the tour. It is recommended that you thoroughly wash and sanitise your hands before attending and throughout the tour, as required

  • Please check NSW Health for the latest information about wearing a face mask on public transport and during outdoor events. Your tour guide may provide you with a face mask and request you to wear it on this tour.
