At the heart of Sydney's (and Australia's) history and heritage is Chinatown. In fact, Sydney's third Chinese district, Haymarket Chinatown has a history stretching back over a century.

From Cantonese Opera to the Mandarin Club, from bananas to the foundation of Shanghai business empires, the secrets of Chinese Australian history will be uncovered in this tour. The Chinese Australian Historical Society's tour will teach you why this was the 'Street of the Tang People', which was the Labor Party's favourite restaurant, and how Bruce Lee helped establish Chinatown's first cinema. Join long-term Chinatown resident Doug Lam as he takes you on a New Year walkabout of Sydney's Haymarket Chinatown.

For COVID safety and to maximise your enjoyment tour numbers will be limited to 15 people.
