For many of us, there is nothing quite like heading to our favourite local bar or pub and dabbling in the dazzling selections of house-made cocktails or beers. These social spots have been where we have connected with new and old friends, enjoyed great food, varied drinks and of course, shared a laugh. With luck and creative thinking, I am sure we will get back to our favourite haunts in the future, although they may all look a little different
Throughout the coronavirus shutdown, many pubs have turned to innovation by selling takeaway food and tap beer in sealable containers to ride the wave until reopening. I have on the occasional weekend, meandered down to my local to pick up a couple of alcoholic ginger beers which I have enjoyed with my favourite takeout. As if this innovation wasn't enough we are now being surprised with specialty at home sampler boxes, complete with an online tasting session
One such online event is the Carwyn Collaborational International Beer festival, a brand new activity showcasing 22 breweries and 11 collaborative beers within an online setup. The festival will be hosted by Carwyn Cellars with the assistance of their sponsors at The Crafty Pint. There will be an awesome line-up of brewers hailing from Australia as well as a host of international producers. This stellar line-up includes Hawkers (VIC), One Drop (NSW), Felons (QLD), Otherside (WA), De Molen (Netherlands), Track (United Kingdom), Firestone Walker (USA) and Beer Here (Denmark).
While you are most welcome to watch the festival online, the team here have organised a Collaborational at Home Beer Box which can be pre-ordered and enjoyed as you watch the festivities unfold, which includes guided tasting sessions.
