The popular arts festival and all-ages adventure zone takes over the world's most famous beach every year. Over 15 dazzling days, enjoy an assortment of breathtaking performances, laugh out loud shows, immersive experiences, and out-there family fun!
Complementing the incredible arts program is the cherished Bondi Vista Ferris Wheel, plus a brand new attraction, the Bondi Roller Rink. The iconic suburb's businesses and storefronts will also be transformed into temporary theatres for artists to amaze with mind-bending shows.
"It's been a rollercoaster ride planning the festival this year" said co-director Phil Spencer. "Because of this new world we're living in, the shape, scale and scope of the festival is going to be different."
"But we know that the vibrant program we're bringing together for this year will be the much-needed pick-me-up people have been craving these last few months," added co-director Rachel Chant.
Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos said, "COVID-19 has greatly affected our local businesses and our capacity to hold cultural events in our public spaces.
"As the curve begins to flatten, I'm very pleased to be welcoming people back to Bondi and excited about our future events, especially our exciting Bondi Festival, of course subject to the relevant Public Health Orders and consultation with the Minister for Health and Medical Research.
"The festival promises to have something for everyone, including lovers of live performance and family-friendly activities including the Bondi ferris wheel and the new Bondi roller skating rink." she said.
The full festival program is set to be unveiled on Wednesday 26 August 2020. For all the latest on what's on, please see www.bondifestival.com.au
