Visit Glebe library and take a cinematic journey through an exhibition of the 2021 Australian Life photography prize finalists.
From loud bursts of colour to quiet family moments, the 28 finalist images paint a picture of Australia's unique personality. Youthful innocence, caring communities, sporting prowess, intimacy, and reflection - these documented moments represent stories that make up Australian Life. Some images evoke an immediate response, while others may linger with you.
A limited selection from the finalist's images is also on display at Surry Hills Library.
About Australian Life
Australian Life is one of Australia's biggest - and most democratic - photography prizes. For more than 15 years, amateur and professional photographers have sent in their epic and intimate images of Australia. The finalists, and the $10,000 grand prize winner, are chosen by a panel of professional photographers, artists, and curators.
The 2021 grand prize winner is Georgia Brogan with her photograph titled 'Youth', and the People's choice prize, sponsored by Olympus, was won by Elise Derwin for her photograph 'It Always Rains Before Kick Off'.
Australian Life is produced by the City of Sydney as part of Art & About Sydney, an ongoing program of temporary art projects in unusual spaces.
