As our Artist In Focus for April, we have had the pleasure of interviewing Helen Mueller on her practice, her new studio in Hobart, and her experimental works.

Australian artist, Helen Mueller has been exhibiting with the Gallery since 2004, and we have since hosted 7 solo shows and countless curated group exhibitions with her work. Working mainly in relief printmaking, Helen is deeply concerned with questions of ecological connections and disconnections in the material world, particularly along coastlines and riverbanks. Above all is a dedication on process and examination of the creative process, often working in tandem as she begins new work and delves into new ideas.

After making the move from Sydney to Hobart last year in the midst of the pandemic, Helen has invited us into her new home and studio, providing us with an insight into her exploratory and experimental phase of practice as she works towards a new body of work.
