A colony of giant ants has moved into Southbank. As the ants get to work in their new home, kids and families will be irresistibly drawn into their world. The giant insects disrupt the everyday as they go about their busy colony lives.

Kids can choose how they interact with the big insects, becoming ant-like creatures themselves in an antennae-making workshop, and then taking part in the performance as it unfolds. All are welcome to join in on the fun, and observe this enchanting investigation into the nature of work, perception of scale and our relationship with the environment.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre as part of Music Play Family Festival.
This performance features a newly commissioned score generously supported by Melbourne Recital Centre's Betty Amsden Bequest.
